Do you believe being a good model in heart and soul produces good actions that others may see and want to emulate? I think so…my attitude, actions and spirit really do have an impact on my friends, family, business contacts, and even when I join together with others can impact cities. I have several examples that are either living or have lived that I can draw from that seem “worthy” of imitating. I believe that you can still truly be yourself and yet imitate others that you conscientiously or un-conscientiously. This surely makes one want to be aware of who they are gleaning attitudes, actions and thought processes from.
I don’t always remember this, but many people around me watch how I live…they watch how I react to difficulty, how I relate to people, and how my attitudes and faith makes a real difference in my life. Everybody seems to know when we screw up, almost like people can’t wait to find fault in us. But I also believe everyone actually is parched for genuineness, integrity, kindness, faithfulness, thoughtfulness, thankfulness, and a biggie, humility, in others. When is the last time you saw humility? Not much out there, but instead it’s this desperate shout of “listen to me, I’m right”, or “this is how it is and by the way YOU are WRONG”. I wonder if others see me living life with those better qualities and if I’m consistent enough to be a good model for 2008.
Most of you have heard someone say, “In this troubled world we are either part of the problem or part of the solution.” Am I a piece of the problem or a piece of the solution? What about you? For me, I become part of the solution when I make the great Creator more of the “core” in my life. Seems when I do that each day, I don’t get too distracted by the things around me that try to influence my actions and my thought processes.
I’m sure you’ve seen this, but makes you stop and think.

“CrAsH! Yeah you Crash, look up more often, get perspective on how you model your life.”
You are correct, my friend, people do watch you, consider your actions, and may, from time to time, consider how they live their lives in relation to the way you live yours.
It is good to stop once and a while and take a look at the world around you — and consider what you can truly do to make it a better place.
As someone once said, if you keep your head down, you may find a nickle or a dime, but you will miss the beautiful sunrise.
people ask me if i am christian/catholic/”believe in god”/etc. …and often i don’t know how to answer them. mainly because i don’t go to church, or give to a collection plate or carry a bible around asking everyone if they believe that jesus is their lord and savior.
if i do have any sort of spirituality, i’ve read the bible, and the koran, and a few other books that tell me that the great thinkers and folks with much bigger souls than i all pretty much agree with you: …that you live your life as best you can, do good for as many people as you can, and you live as an example to others. that doing good promotes others to do good as well.
so i try.
and if others see what i am doing and it makes them want to do something good for someone else too, then that makes me glad.
